Dannie Kilpatrick Dies At 95 - Southwest Florida

She was born June 15, 1923 in Moultrie, GA, to the late James Ivie and the late Maggie (Blanton) Ammons. She was a few months old when her family moved to a farm in Madison County Florida. Dannie married the love of her life D.R. Kilpatrick on July 14, 1948. They lived around the Okeechobee area before moving to Clewiston in 1959, then moving to Moore Haven in 1980. She received the Citizen of the Year award in 1994 and was a member of various Cattle Associations and other organizations such as Friends of the Library and the Eastern Star. Dannie proudly became an honorary Glades County Deputy for her 95th Birthday. Dannie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many people and will be greatly missed.Dannie is survived by her children: James Russell Kilpatrick (Marylou), Troy Wendell Kilpatrick, Ann Akin (Cecil) and Drayton Kilpatrick, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; D.R. Kilpatrick, children; Linda Sue Lucey and Laurlene K. Mims and grandchildren; David Kilpatrick and Jimmy Kilpatrick.Visitation was Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 05:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 12:00 pm at the Ortona Cemetery Pavilion, Moore Haven with Pastor John Booher officiating.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Dannie to: Glades County Library, P.O. Leonard Tompkins Dies At 87 - Southwest Florida

Tompkins 84, of Alva, FL passed away December 2, 2018 in Alva.He was born Aug. 12, 1934 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to the late William Nelson and Mildred Sarah (Shattraw) Tompkins. He was one of 6 children: William, Barbara, Mildred, Leonard, Douglas and Brian.Leonard was married to his beloved wife Kathleen Mae for 60 years, they had 3 children: Gerald Edward, Jeannette Barbara, and April Theresa.He has 12 grandchildren: Lance, Tracy, Denise, Cory, Samantha, Jamie, Michael, Stephen, Lee, Tammy, Denica, and Jeffrey; as well as many great and great-great grandchildren.He was the proud owner of a cabinet business for 35 years and served Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.He was a kind and gentle soul loved by all and will be sorely missed.Arrangements by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - Fort Myers.

Marvin "Ralph" Harrell Dies At 80 - Southwest Florida

Born on August 21, 1938 in Frostproof, Florida. He was raised in Belle Glade and settled in LaBelle in 1977. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing and being outdoors, also he loved to golf. In later years he enjoyed running his birddogs especially his special dog Star. He was a retired chemical and seed salesman.He is preceded in death by his father and mother; Marvin and Mildred Lyles Harrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Bettie (Evans) Harrell, son; Kevin Harrell and his wife Amy of LaBelle, daughter; Saundra Lynn of Okeechobee, grandchildren; Kathryn and Kevin Harrell, Jr, Alicia King of Mount Dora, Dawn Lynn of Wildwood, Jessie Bauerly of Indiana, and 10 great grandchildren.He was the best father, but even a more wonderful grandfather and will be greatly missed.The world lost a very fine man on November 27, 2018.Celebration of Marvin's life was celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 in Akin-Davis Funeral Home where Mr. Robbie Hull officiated. Burial took place in Fort Denaud Cemetery. Visitation was from 6-8 pm Thursday evening.
